Bayern Munich Looks to Return to Winning Ways Against Leverkusen

Having gone four straight Bundesliga fixtures without a win, Bayern Munich are on their worst league run in 21 years and it’s left the team sitting five points adrift from the top of the table. Julian Nagelsmann will hope to rediscover the winning formula on Friday against Leverkusen.

10Bet LogoBookmaker 10bet offers odds at 4.35 for Bayern to win by one goal. The odds are at 4.30 for them to get a two-goal win and at 9.50 for Leverkusen to sneak a narrow one-goal victory.

Bayern produced a spectacular start to the season by winning their first three games and scoring 15 goals, but a run of three draws followed and they also ended up taking their first loss of the season right before the international break, suffering a 1-0 defeat in a Bavarian derby against Augsburg.

Nagelsmann’s men scored goals for fun in the first few games of the season, but the result against Augsburg marks their first league game without a goal since February 2020. It was an incredible 87-game scoring streak that started after a 0-0 draw with Leipzig.

Meeting a team that’s conceded 12 goals in seven league outings this season gives Bayern a good opportunity to get their offense going again.

Sadio Mane will lead the line once again, but Jamal Musiala seems to get better with each passing week and could be the game-changer here. The teenager has registered a team-high four goals and one assist in the league this season, and he also impressed for Germany during the international break.

Leverkusen have avoided defeat in this match-up just three times in the last 12 games, but they did manage to squeeze out a draw in Munich last season when Thomas Müller incredibly scored an own goal in a 1-1 game. The team has some great individual talent and can be a real headache for the opposition if everything clicks.

Unfortunately for Leverkusen consistency is always an issue with the team and there hasn’t been any of it early in 2022-23. Gerardo Seoane has steered his side to just one victory in the league and a haul of five points in seven games has left the team near the bottom of the table.

Bayern will be desperate to end their poor spell Friday night, but Leverkusen won’t be happy with another poor result either. This sets the stage nicely for an intriguing match that should also provide plenty of goals.
