Dallas heads to the Chase Center on a nice run having won six of their last eight outings. Luka Doncic has put up some massive numbers and his performance will be the key to victory on Sunday again.

Just before the All-Star break, Doncic became only the fourth player in NBA history to post multiple games with 45-plus points, 15-plus rebounds and five-plus assists in a single month and the first since Wilt Chamberlain did it in January 1966.

The Mavs leader has averaged a 35-10-10 line overall for the month and it appears that the team has managed to unlock another version of him by trading away Kristaps Porzingis.

The two European stars looked like a great one-two punch on paper, but there were clearly some chemistry issues and the recent results show that Dallas made the right call with the trade.

Golden State has been trending in the opposite direction lately. Stephen Curry & Co. found themselves on a run of four losses in five games before crushing Portland 132-95 in their last outing.

Curry has been awfully quiet lately and the team needs more from him especially with Draymond Green out injured and Klay Thompson still finding his feet after a length spell on the sidelines.

The two-time MVP had a historic performance with 16 three-pointers and 50 points in the All-Star Game, which could mark the start of another hot scoring stretch. He posted 18 points in just 27 minutes against Portland and if Doncic goes off again, we can expect to see Curry trying to do everything he can to match him.

The Warriors have a very strong 26-6 home record, so Dallas has to put together a near-perfect performance to get a victory. The home side can’t take this one lightly either because the Mavericks are carrying some good momentum and should be very motivated by the chance to close the gap with the top four in the Western Conference.
