Dating back to last season, Toney has been involved in four straight Brentford goals against West Ham in the Premier League. He’s emerged as a true star in the league and can easily decide a game all on his own. Having registered 20 goals and four assists for the season, Toney has been involved in 46 percent of Brentford’s goals – only Erling Haaland (47%) is ahead of him on the list.

To avoid a second league defeat of the season in the match-up, West Ham has to get a result against a very good home team. Arsenal and Newcastle United are the only visiting sides to win at the Gtech Community Stadium this season and Brentford has conceded just 18 times on home turf.

It’s a big week for the Hammers. They beat AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of the Conference League semi-finals and can now secure their Premier League spot for next season with a positive result on Sunday. However, the European involvement might also be a distraction for David Moyes’ men.

It’s been a disappointing league campaign for West Ham and they would’ve made their life much easier if they had simply cruised through the season in a mid-table position. Last week’s 1-0 triumph against Manchester United marks West Ham’s 10th win of the season, but there have also been 18 defeats in 35 outings and only two sides have lost more games in the Premier League.

If West Ham wins on Sunday, they will have recorded back-to-back league victories for only the second time this season. Back in October, Moyes’ men got the better of Wolverhampton and Fulham. However, both matches were home outings and West Ham now have to figure out a way to win on the road. The Hammers visit Brentford’s fortress having dropped 11 of 17 away games this season.
