※ Current Odds Date & Time: January 24th, 9:30 A.M. (EST)
The Clippers have won the first two head-to-head match-ups this season and it means that the Lakers are now in the midst of a nine-game losing streak in the series. The team’s last victories in the series came during LeBron’s second season in L.A.
James is considered questionable for Tuesday’s game, but he’s played through injuries all season long and should remain in the lineup as the team desperately tries to remain in the postseason race.
The veteran superstar has averaged 25 points in meetings with the Clippers this season but the supporting cast hasn’t been good enough in the two games. Will it be third time’s a charm for the Lakers? The team has been on a good run since the turn of the year and even James has elevated his game to new heights, averaging 33.8 points a night for the month.
The Clippers have Leonard hitting form. He’s had awful injury troubles in recent years, but Kawhi appears to finally be back to his best, averaging close to 30 points per game across his last seven outings. He’s also one of the best defenders in his position and his presence is a major asset for the Clippers.
With George also healthy again, the Clippers will definitely be one of the teams to watch during the latter half of the season. The team has struggled to stay above .500 so far but a full roster should help them to enjoy a strong finish to the campaign.
Both teams will be looking for a third consecutive victory on Tuesday. The Clippers have started to recover from an awful run that saw the side drop nine of 11 games and are now trying to put together a run of three consecutive victories for only the fourth time this season. The same applies to the Lakers, who have blown hot and cold throughout 2022-23.
